This is a big weekend for ASES. We will be starting to building our Solar Still and finishing our big Solar Oven. The group will be meeting at the Solar Energy Park this Saturday at 10am to go to LOWE’s to purchase the supplies. If you can’t go to LOWE’s meet them back at the Solar Park at 11am. These two projects are great demonstrations of solar energy.
If you are interested in attending the National ASES Conference from May 12-16th, let me know. I will give you a run down on how to register and what not. If you have ANY questions, regarding the conference feel free to ask. The conference is one of the best oppurtunites you can have to network with the solar industry and you can learn about what’s on the cutting edge from experts. It’s a great experience.
On to t-shirts…As I mentioned at Tuesdays meeting please send in your t-shirt design ideas to me by Friday night (sorry for the short notice). If the design is in an electronic format e-mail it to me. If it is hand drawn, just bring it with you on Saturday. We will be making final desicions on Saturday.
Next meeting I will be discussing The Impacts of Passive Solar Design in Residential Appliactions. The next meeting should be next Thursday or the following Tuesday.

We need people to come and help out!
Everyone come out to UF’s energy park on Saturday, October 18 for Gainesville’s Annual Solar Tour! Gainesville residents will have the opportunity to talk to local solar installers such as Pure Energy Solar and ECS Solar. Also on display will be alternative modes of transportation ranging from solar-powered tricycles to electric cars, as well as the opportunity to tour a local biodiesel production plant. Maps will be handed out and residents will be welcomed to participate in self-guided tours of local homes and businesses implementing solar energy, including the largest commercial system in the city and a zero-energy home! Homes will be available for touring until 5pm.
