Solar Tour 2008

October 11, 2008

We need people to come and help out!

Everyone come out to UF’s energy park on Saturday, October 18 for Gainesville’s Annual Solar Tour!  Gainesville residents will have the opportunity to talk to local solar installers such as Pure Energy Solar and ECS Solar. Also on display will be alternative modes of transportation ranging from solar-powered tricycles to electric cars, as well as the opportunity to tour a local biodiesel production plant. Maps will be handed out and residents will be welcomed to participate in self-guided tours of local homes and  businesses implementing solar energy, including the largest commercial  system in the city and a zero-energy home! Homes will be available for touring until 5pm.

ASES at Solar 2008 Conference

May 4, 2008

We made it!  The University of Florida chapter of ASES is spending the week volunteering, learning and contributing to the ASES National Conference, Solar 2008.  We arrived in San Diego on Friday morning and started volunteering immediately.  We spent our first day at the conference stuffing tote bags for the conference and then later that night we rebuilt the Photon.  Saturday and Sunday we presented the ASES Photon and volunteered for the conference.  All the attendants loved the Photon.  They were all very curious and none of them could deny themselves a free ride on the Photon.  Later this week Dan, Nate and Jaya are presenting at the conference.  Stay tuned for more updates.
